I am in route to Texas, flying at 30,000 feet, and I’ve come to the conclusion that people although weird want to be GOOD. The guy to my left was drunk before he got on the plane, and then ordered two more beers. That made me laugh. While we were taxing he had four very loud phone convo’s using every vulger word in the book. Needless to say I was getting frustrated. As he finished his last phone call and ended it annoyingly with the word “Chou” I decided to lean in for the kill. After all he is a Very Draining Person,(VDP) and I felt it my place to put him in his. Before I could open my mouth, he spoke to me. Asked me about my daughter, whom I was holding, gave me some helpful hints to prevent her ears from popping (which we followed) and later offered us an extra seat if needed. I was reminded of the need for patience when dealing with VDP’s and that sometimes we need more perspective before we “lean in for the kill”. After all, don’t most people have a desire to be GOOD, having been created in the image of a God who is undoubtedly, GOOD?
